2019 Legislative Session: A6389 and S4967

May 22, 2019

Newly introduced bills A6389 sponsored by Crystal Peoples-Stokes and S4967 sponsored by James Skoufis are gaining traction as more of our representatives become aware of how the current licensure law discriminates against individuals who do not have ASD.

The Senate and Assembly are in session only through June 19th!! We need as many co-sponsors as possible to help persuade the legislative chairs of the higher education committees (Assemblywoman Deborah Glick and Senator Toby Stavisky) to release our bills to the floor for a vote.

Our goal is to get a total of 76 legislators signed on as co-sponsors! We currently have 31.

Please help us reach our goal by working with your own Senator and Assemblymember to sign on.

!!! If you know families who can benefit from behavior analysis and cannot access services for their loved one because of the current licensure law, please help them to reach out to their representatives!! Read these letters from two families who are directly impacted by the law:

My 7-year old son
